WHY DO I NEED A BACKUP?
At DataBank we find it strange that companies spend thousands of dollars each year on business insurance yet neglect to insure their most valuable asset of all - their data. Your sole means of insuring this asset is to have a backup copy of all your data, ready for action in case the worst happens.
Storing backup tapes or removable disks in a climate controlled, secure facility is available at a fraction of the cost of company insurance, yet affords more protection to your company’s survival than traditional insurance does.
Merely removing your backup tapes or removable disks from the office is not sufficient. Backup tapes and removable disks are very sensitive to temperature and humidity, and if not kept in the appropriate conditions the data may be irrecoverable. Optimum conditions for backup media are at a maintained temperature of between 18-22ºC and relative humidity (RH) of between 40-50%.
